Depressor Anguli Oris
Abstract
A bundle of muscle fibers may arise from the inferior border of the depressor and pass obliquely downward and inward toward the median line beneath the chin, either terminating in superficial fascia of that region or uniting with a counterpart from the opposite side. This slip is considered a distinct muscle, the transversus menti. The depressor may appear as three distinct fascicles. Syn.: m. depressor labii inferioris, triangularis.
