Report content

• A substantive error: a wrong figure, a misreported frequency, an incorrect anatomical description.
• A translation error: a passage that says something different in Italian from the English original.
• A licensing or attribution problem: material republished without the right to do so, missing or wrong attribution, a figure you own.
• A privacy problem: an image or text from which a person can be identified.
• A defect of the site: a page that does not open, a broken link, content unreadable with a screen reader.

So that the report can be acted on without an exchange of messages, please include:

• the address of the page;
• the exact passage, copied and pasted, rather than a description of where it is;
• what is wrong and, if you know, what it should say;
• the source you rely on, where you have one: a correction with a reference is applied straight away, one without needs checking, which takes longer.

The editorial team checks the report and replies. If the error is real, the entry is corrected and the correction stays visible: the previous version does not disappear and the page states what changed. If the report is not accepted, you are told why.

Reports about licensing and privacy take precedence over everything else: where the problem is well founded the content is withdrawn from view while the check is under way, not after it.
